Carlo Cristi will exhibit at the new location:
ARADER GALLERIES
1016 Madison Avenue (78th and 79th)
NYC 10075
Mob. 646 309 79 70

Early tangkas, illuminations and rare bronzes from the himalayan regions will be on show. Notable an impressive early mandala of Heruka, or one of his form, surrounded by visions of the Bardo, a beautiful tangka of Vairocana, 13th century, of excellent workmanship, and manuscripts folios, Kashmir school in West Tibet, finely illuminated.

A bronze Mahakala, Yongle period, a rare representations of the period, possibly made to present to a monastery in Tibet, where has been preserved, will be exhibited along with himalayan bronzes and Gupta terracottas. Central Asia, where cultures met and mixed, will be represented by silver art works and textiles of great visual appeal. Notable a set of silver saddle fittings, gold cladded, embossed with mythical animals, and a group of spectacular textiles with large roundels and designs that sogdian weavers made famous along the road and beyond : winged horses, pheasants, lions, bulls, all emblems of divine forces.

I look forward to greeting personally collectors, curators and friends.
